The Ruparelia Foundation has signed on as the headline sponsor of the 9th Pan-African Pyramid Global Awards and Convention, with Foundation chairman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia also confirmed as chief guest at the August 29 ceremony to be held at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.
The sponsorship covers the full cost of the event, including a four-course gala dinner that will close the evening’s programme alongside reggae music and cultural performances. The convention brings together Pan-African intellectuals, entrepreneurs and thought leaders from across the globe, with delegates expected from Jamaica, Canada, the United States, Burkina Faso, Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya.

Andrew Irumba Katusabe, Founding Speaker and Chairman of the Pan-African Pyramid, described the development as a breakthrough for an organisation that has operated for eleven years with little financial backing. “After 11 years of our hard existence and 8 years of PAP Global Awards, I take the honour to announce that Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, under his charity hand, the Ruparelia Foundation, has sponsored this year’s PAP Global Awards,” he said.
The PAP Global Awards recognise outstanding contributors to Pan-African ideals, African unity and socio-economic transformation across categories that include revolutionary leaders, scholars, women entrepreneurs, artists and lifetime achievers.
Beyond the awards, this year’s convention will also serve as a high-level intellectual forum on Africa’s economic transformation, ideological rebirth and continental integration, drawing some of the continent’s most prominent thinkers to a single platform.
Irumba revealed that Dr. Sudhir’s relationship with the organisation predates this year’s formal agreement, noting that the businessman has quietly provided logistical support and encouragement to the Pan-African Pyramid over the years before stepping forward as the official headline sponsor.
For the Pan-African Pyramid, which has relied largely on volunteerism and ideological commitment since its founding, the partnership with one of Uganda’s most influential business figures signals a significant shift in the organisation’s capacity to deliver on its Pan-African agenda.
