ONC Monitoring Visit Highlights Achievements and Challenges At Kamidakan Primary School
Earlier today, the ONC Kalaki District Coordinator, David Ebinu visited Kamidakan Primary School, Apapai Sub-county and was welcomed by Headteacher Ebayu Alice and Deputy Headteacher Enumu Charles.
Key Achievements Under the NRM Government:
- Government-supplied science kits and textbooks
- Increased enrollment due to UPE and mid-day meals
- Improved teacher attendance and remedial teaching
- Gradual performance improvement due to teacher dedication and continuous monitoring
Challenges Faced:
- Renovation needed for a 5-classroom block built in the 1960s
- Inadequate latrines for boys
- Lack of desks for P.1-P.5 learners
- No library/store for the school
- Staff shortages due to increasing enrollment
Despite these challenges, continued government support and stakeholder collaboration remain crucial for improving education quality in the district.
