The ongoing controversy over the government’s plan to abolish the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) and transfer its functions to the Ministry of Agriculture has gained momentum after HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni jumped into it fuming against those attaching tribalism to this move.

Museveni in a lengthy statement says most of the people talking hell against the merger, are either not informed, opportunists or enemies of Uganda since UCDA was started by his NRM government and the promotion of coffee in Uganda has been a campaign of his government.
