Bulambuli:Â In a bid to further the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) ideology, Biara Emmanuel Wepukhulu a resident from Bulambuli district today 24th May 2025 launched his campaign to replace Capt. Mike Mukula as the second Vice Chairman for the Eastern Region. As a scientist with a strong educational background, Wepukhulu brings a unique perspective to the table.
The launch of his campaign was a significant event held at the home of the District NRM Chairman-Elect Mr. Kimamati Paul Michael in Bwihonge Sub County. Mr. Kimamati not-only attended the launch but also blessed Wepukhulu’s efforts, lending his support to the campaign.
This declaration comes at the time when the Bugisu region is struggling to accept Teso region’s taking the lion share of the national cake leaving crumps for the rest to share in Eastern Uganda. So by taking up this position, the Bamasaba can claim their space in Uganda’s leadership landscape to drive progress and development in the region.
His popularity in Bulambuli is undeniably high. He has been instrumental in supporting over 50 students who excelled in their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), providing them with the necessary resources to pursue their academic dreams. His efforts in empowering women through economic empowerment initiatives have also earned him widespread recognition.
Furthermore, his commitment to environmental conservation is evident in his tree-planting initiatives, which aim to promote sustainability and protect the environment for future generations.
As a potential leader in the NRM, Wepukhulu’s vision is built on the party’s core pillars. He aims to promote patriotism by fostering national unity and pride, while also advocating for pan-Africanism and African solidarity. He believes in the importance of democracy and will work to ensure that the voices of all citizens are heard.
Through his socio-economic transformation initiatives, Emmanuel plans to drive economic development and improve the lives of citizens. He also prioritizes working with government to restock Eastern Region especially Bulambuli that has for long been left out with also lobbying for tighter security for stability, recognizing that peace and security are essential for progress.
With his impressive track record and commitment to NRM’s ideology, Biara Emmanuel Wepukhulu is poised to make a meaningful impact in the Eastern Region. His leadership could bring about a new era of growth, development, and prosperity for the people.
