FDC’s Secret Weapon: Isaac Ojok Angiro Nominated For Erute North MP Battle

By Our Reporter

After nearly a year and a half of silent yet deliberate consultations, Isaac Ojok Angiro Gutomoi has officially been nominated as the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) flag bearer for Erute North County, marking the beginning of what many are calling a major generational political reset in the subregion.

Ojok’s political journey began with a quiet but determined declaration in December 2023, which sparked a mix of skepticism and anticipation. Today, that vision has materialized — not through noise, but through focused grassroots engagement, strategic listening, and a deep understanding of what leadership should look like in a transforming Uganda.

At his nomination and launch event, Ojok delivered a clear and resonant message: a call to restore integrity, accountability, and clarity in politics. He emphasized that politics is not a career of promises, but a platform for service — with clear expectations from both leaders and the electorate.

“Many politicians struggle to list tangible achievements long after elections,” Ojok said. “The disconnect between elected leaders and their roles in legislation, budgeting, and oversight is a gap we must close through voter education and honest engagement.”

A youthful and articulate leader with deep roots in the region, Ojok carries the enduring legacy of his late father, Hon. Charles Angiro Gutomoi Abac Acon, a revered opposition stalwart who represented the constituency with fearless dedication for over 37 years. Ojok is widely regarded as a torchbearer of that legacy, earning community nicknames such as “Atin Twol,” “Gen Anyen,” and “Loti Mac”, symbolizing hope, strength, and generational renewal.

His approach — reflective, unifying, and issue-driven — has struck a chord among young voters and elders alike. By revisiting the political history of Erute North and challenging narratives around youth participation, Ojok is redefining political leadership with vision and courage.

Now formally nominated as FDC’s sole candidate, Ojok is set to challenge incumbent Hon. Christine Akello Gwok (NRM) in what is expected to be the most competitive parliamentary race in the subregion’s history.

“Uganda needs leaders who are willing to reset politics. Not for popularity — but for impact,” Ojok declared.

As the campaign trail intensifies, Ojok Angiro’s message is resonating: It’s time for a new kind of leadership — rooted in legacy, driven by purpose, and focused on people.
