In a powerful roundtable appearance on Rest TV, renowned NRM supporter and staunch Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) member, Kabbichi Junior, heaped praise on His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his recent visit to South Sudan, describing it as a sign of senior statesmanship and a firm commitment to regional peace and integration.
According to Kabbichi, President Museveni’s role in the East African region is unmatched, especially when it comes to peacebuilding. “President Museveni is not only Uganda’s leader but a father figure in East Africa. His experience and wisdom are critical in guiding nations like South Sudan towards lasting peace. A case in point is when Raila Odinga was asked to first come here in Uganda to meet Museveni before he meets President Kiir,” Kabbichi remarked during the televised discussion.
Kabbichi also highlighted the often overlooked but crucial role of the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, in stabilizing South Sudan during the 2013 political upheaval. “If Gen Muhoozi, on the orders of his father, had not swiftly intervened in 2013, Salva Kiir’s government would have been history. Riek Machar’s forces were determined to overthrow him,” he stated passionately.
The outspoken political analyst has in recent months been a regular voice across multiple media platforms, where he boldly defends the National Resistance Movement (NRM), the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), President Museveni, and Gen Muhoozi. His articulate presentation and unwavering loyalty to the government have earned him respect and admiration among Ugandans who are wondering actually if he can defend the government without any position, what if he is appointed into any leadership position how much can he contribute to the government and country at large?.
As a result of his consistency, tireless defense of government policy, and efforts in countering misinformation, many believe Kabbichi deserves a major appointment in government — a gesture that would not only reward his loyalty but also empower him to further contribute to national development.
Kabbichi further outlined the benefits of Uganda’s involvement in South Sudan’s stability:
- Regional Stability – Uganda’s intervention helped prevent a full-blown civil war, promoting peace in the region.
- Economic Cooperation – Peace in South Sudan means increased trade and investment opportunities between the two nations.
- Security Buffer – A stable South Sudan acts as a buffer against rebel movements that could destabilize northern Uganda.
- Enhanced Diplomacy – Uganda’s image as a peacekeeper boosts its diplomatic weight in the African Union and IGAD.
In his own words, Kabbichi emphasized, “Uganda’s commitment to regional peace has saved lives, preserved governments, and earned our nation respect. It’s time we recognize those who stand on the frontlines defending these truths.”
Kabbichi Junior stands out as one of the few Ugandans who have dedicated themselves fully to championing the ideals of NRM and PLU. His voice continues to be a strong pillar in the ideological struggle — and for that, he indeed deserves a bigger role in the country’s leadership.
