Kyanika Rehema Announces Candidacy For National Chairperson, NRM Women’s League (2025–2030)

By Frank Kamuntu

As Uganda prepares for the next chapter of its political leadership, a bold and compassionate voice has emerged from the heart of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) — Kyanika Rehema, a dedicated servant leader, has officially declared her bid for National Chairperson of the NRM Women’s League for the 2025–2030 term.

With a compelling slogan, “I Am, Because You Are,” Rehema’s campaign speaks directly to the values of communal strength, inclusive growth, and servant leadership. Her candidacy comes at a time when the role of women in Ugandan politics is more critical than ever. Rehema is not only running to represent women at the national level but also to build a League that listens, serves, and acts decisively for the development of every Ugandan woman.

A Vision for Inclusive Empowerment

Kyanika Rehema has long been recognized for her tireless work in grassroots mobilization, women’s economic empowerment programs, and community development. Her approach is anchored in the belief that when women are empowered, communities thrive. Through her candidacy, she aims to bring renewed energy to the NRM Women’s League, ensuring it remains a driving force for national transformation.

Strengthening the NRM Legacy

As a candidate for the Central Executive Committee (CEC), Rehema pledges to amplify the voices of women within the party’s top decision-making organ. Her leadership style emphasizes transparency, mentorship, and accountability — values that align with the NRM’s mission of peace, stability, and development.

Her strategic plan focuses on five core pillars:

  1. Grassroots Mobilization and Capacity Building
  2. Economic Empowerment for Rural and Urban Women
  3. Youth and Women Mentorship Programs
  4. Health and Education Advocacy
  5. Strengthening Unity within the Party

Backed by Experience and Integrity

A proud daughter of Uganda, Rehema brings to the race a wealth of experience in public service, social work, and political organization. Her reputation as a bridge-builder among diverse communities has earned her respect across political and social lines.

The NRM emblem on her campaign poster stands as a symbol of her unwavering loyalty to the Movement and her readiness to uphold its values in a changing political landscape.

As the campaign for the 2025–2030 term gains momentum, Rehema is calling upon all NRM members, particularly the women of Uganda, to rally behind a transformative vision. “Let us stand together,” she says. “Let us build together. I am, because you are.”
