A wave of excitement swept through Kakyeka Stadium as thousands gathered for a grand Iftar dinner hosted by Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC).
Following the success of the historic Kampala Street Iftar, Hajjat Namyalo brought the celebration to Mbarara, bringing together Muslims from across the political spectrum, including representatives from NRM, FDC and other parties. The event, which drew over 14,000 attendees, was a powerful demonstration of faith, generosity, and community spirit.
As the sun set, Hajjat Namyalo personally served meals, embodying the values of compassion and unity. The event also provided a platform for important discussions on socioeconomic empowerment, government development programs, and the role of the Muslim community in Uganda’s national progress.
His Worship Emeritus Bishop Willy Tumwiine, former Mbarara Mayor and NRM Chairperson, praised Hajjat Namyalo’s initiative and highlighted the significance of the gathering, noting the presence of key religious leaders.
Mbarara District Qadi Sheikh Abdullah Muhammad Mukwaya also lauded her efforts, describing her as a “special breed sent by Allah.” He extended an invitation for Hajjat Namyalo to be the chief guest at the upcoming Qadh Run, scheduled for April 13, 2025.
In her address, Hajjat Namyalo expressed gratitude to the organizers, RDCs, and politicians from various parties. She emphasized the importance of unity, saying, “Let us come together for the good of Mbarara and the greater Ankole region. This is an untapped area with immense potential.”
She urged against political violence, stressing the need for economic growth and reminding attendees, “We all seek prosperity, but remember, all things are temporary. Let’s embrace peace and harmony. We are now living in President Museveni’s era of peace and economic stability.”
Hajjat Namyalo’s efforts to bridge political and social divides continue to inspire unity, fostering a sense of collaboration and collective progress in Uganda.
