Earlier this afternoon, the Head of the Office of the National Chairperson (ONC) NRM, Senior Presidential Advisor (SPA) Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, officiated the 3rd Anniversary celebrations of the Eddobozi Lyo Events Management Association at Tick Hotel in Kawempe, Kampala Capital City.
The Association brings together a wide range of professionals—including Masters of Ceremonies, decorators, marriage counsellors, and cultural promoters—under one umbrella, and is particularly known for moderating traditional marriage ceremonies such as Kwanjula and Mbaga. In her remarks, Hajjat Namyalo commended the association’s leadership for uniting practitioners in the events industry, which she noted eases access to government funding. “Forming SACCOs is a standard approach to drive development and enable government support for citizens,” she noted.
Hajjat Namyalo highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to economically empower disadvantaged communities, referencing key programs such as Emyooga, Parish Development Model (PDM), GROW, and Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP), all designed to lift Ugandans out of poverty. However, she expressed concern over the limited public awareness and the impact of corruption on the effectiveness of these initiatives. She called upon members of the association to play an active role in spreading awareness about these opportunities within their communities to enhance inclusivity.
She further applauded the association for preserving and promoting cultural values, particularly through the use of the Luganda language, which she described as a powerful tool for maintaining the identity of the people in Central Uganda, while also reinforcing Uganda’s national motto of unity in diversity as championed by H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, also known as Jajja W’abazzukulu.
Reaffirming her commitment to economic empowerment, especially for women and youth, Hajjat Namyalo pledged to support the group with income-generating tools such as sewing machines, multi-purpose brick-making machines, and popcorn machines to help combat household poverty. “I am deeply passionate about uplifting women, who often shoulder household responsibilities alone—particularly when abandoned or unsupported by their partners,” she emphasized.
In conclusion, Hajjat Namyalo assured the gathering of nearly 1,000 members of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s continued leadership under the NRM, confirming his candidacy in the forthcoming 2026 general elections. She urged attendees to mobilize their families and communities to overwhelmingly support President Museveni at the polls.
