Victoria University ushered in a new chapter of student leadership on February 28, 2025, as Khaukha Emmanuel, a third-year Bachelor of Pharmacy student, took the oath of office as Guild President for the 2025/2026 term.
The swearing-in ceremony, held in the university’s main auditorium, was a moment of celebration, transition, and renewed commitment to student leadership and excellence. The event also marked the farewell of the 7th Guild Government, whose tenure was praised for transformative leadership and a lasting impact on student welfare.
“Your leadership and commitment have shaped our community, and your contributions will be felt for years to come,” read a statement from the university.
The event was graced by Victoria University’s Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Augustine Osamor Ifelebuegu, who officiated the proceedings on behalf of the Vice Chancellor. He emphasized the crucial role of student governance in shaping the university’s legacy of innovation and service.
Adding to the day’s inspiration was City Pastor Wilson Bugembe of Nansana Worship House, the Guest of Honour, whose message of faith and resilience encouraged the new leadership.
“Your words of wisdom have ignited a renewed sense of purpose within our community,” the university stated in appreciation of Bugembe’s presence.
With a vibrant new Guild Government now in place, the Victoria University community is eager to see Khaukha Emmanuel and his team’s vision unfold. As students and faculty celebrated the transition, there was a shared sense of hope, ambition, and determination for a more impactful and student-driven leadership.
The 8th Guild Government now carries the responsibility of building on past achievements while forging new paths of progress, ensuring that Victoria University remains a hub of academic excellence and leadership development.
