The Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC) has applauded Mr. Magheghuliro Amos, Head Teacher of Bundimasolya Primary School in Ntandi Town Council, Bundibugyo District, for demonstrating outstanding patriotism and dedication to duty amidst the ongoing nationwide teachers’ industrial action.
The monitoring visit was conducted by the ONC Rwenzori Subregion Coordinator under the directives of the Senior Presidential Advisor and Head of ONC, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, to assess the state of teaching and learning activities during the strike period.
During the visit, it was established that Mr. Magheghuliro had instructed all his teachers to remain at school and continue teaching, in defiance of the unlawful strike. He reportedly told his staff that the pupils they serve are “children of the Government and the NRM,” and thus deserve uninterrupted learning.
This act of devotion, according to the ONC team, reflects the kind of patriotic service the government seeks to inspire among public servants—one rooted in loyalty, duty, and love for country.
The inspection revealed that all classes were fully occupied, with learners actively engaged in lessons despite the prevailing strike. The school leadership, however, expressed concern over limited classroom space, which restricts their ability to admit more pupils.
According to the findings, Bundimasolya Primary School currently has a total enrollment of 1,194 pupils, comprising 553 boys and 641 girls across Primary One to Primary Seven.
Members of the Prefectorial Body expressed deep appreciation for their Head Teacher’s unwavering commitment to keeping them in school, noting that while neighboring institutions had suspended classes, Bundimasolya remained a beacon of consistency and hope.
The ONC Rwenzori team documented several pressing challenges affecting the school, including infrastructure constraints and other operational gaps. A comprehensive report has been compiled and submitted for further government consideration and intervention through relevant channels.
In a statement following the visit, the ONC leadership praised Mr. Magheghuliro and his team for embodying the NRM’s vision of “Education for All.” “The dedication displayed by Bundimasolya Primary School’s leadership is a clear testament to the spirit of patriotism and loyalty to President Museveni’s education agenda,” read part of the report.
The ONC emphasized that such examples of commitment and discipline among educators are key to sustaining Uganda’s progress toward equitable and quality education across all regions.
