Uganda Police’s VIPPU Commander SP Ronald Mutabazi Found Home Dead

The Uganda Police Force is mourning the death of one of its senior officers, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ronald Mutabazi, who passed away suddenly on Thursday night.

SP Mutabazi served in the Counter Terrorism Directorate, where he commanded the Very Important Persons Protection Unit (VIPPU) the specialized team responsible for providing security to the Judiciary arm of government.

By Friday morning, details surrounding his death remained unclear. Preliminary reports indicated that his body was found at his residence earlier in the day.

Police officials were yet to issue an official statement on the circumstances of his passing as investigations continued.
