The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Amuria District, Eseru Paul, has issued a public appeal urging residents to take an active role in safeguarding their communities by promptly reporting any suspicious individuals or activities that may threaten peace and safety within the district.

In an official statement released through the Office of the President, RDC’s Office–Amuria District, Mr. Eseru emphasized that security is a shared responsibility and called on residents to work hand in hand with local authorities and security agencies.

“Security starts with you. Together, let us keep Amuria peaceful, secure, and safe for all,” the RDC stated, underscoring the importance of community vigilance and cooperation.

Residents are encouraged to report incidents of concern to Local Council leaders, the Police, or directly to the RDC’s Office. The following hotlines have been provided for immediate reporting and rapid response:

  • RDC’s Office: 0782 332 959
  • DPC: 0775 267 679
  • DISO: 0785 482 033

The RDC further noted that timely information sharing enables security agencies to act swiftly, preventing potential crimes and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the district.

This initiative complements ongoing national efforts to strengthen community policing and reinforce public safety in rural districts such as Amuria, which face diverse security challenges.

Located in Eastern Uganda, Amuria District is known for its vibrant agricultural sector and expanding development projects. By rallying community participation in security efforts, the RDC’s office aims to maintain a stable environment conducive to both resident well-being and continued socio-economic growth.

The announcement was formally signed by Eseru Paul, Resident District Commissioner, Amuria District, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to proactive and people-centered security measures.
