As Uganda prepares for the 2026 general elections, a new wave of leadership is rising—one that combines grassroots experience, visionary thinking, and national ambition. At the forefront of this movement is Ntwatwa John Jackson, a dynamic and results-oriented leader and senior mobilizer of the mighty National Resistance Movement (NRM) who is vying for two critical positions: Member of Parliament for Nakifuma Constituency and 1st National Vice Chairman of the NRM.
A Proven Leader With Deep Roots In Nakifuma
Ntwatwa John Jackson is not a stranger to the people of Nakifuma. He has spent years engaging with communities across the constituency, understanding their needs, listening to their challenges, and helping craft solutions. From supporting farmers with better agricultural practices to empowering youth and women through skill development programs, Ntwatwa has proven that leadership is about action—not words.
His candidacy offers a fresh, focused alternative to the current leadership under Hon. Ssimbwa Fred of the National Unity Platform (NUP). While acknowledging previous efforts, Ntwatwa believes Nakifuma deserves more: better roads, modern healthcare, improved schools, reliable electricity, and employment opportunities for the youth.
A Dual Mission: Leadership At The National Stage
In addition to his parliamentary ambition, Ntwatwa is also contesting for 1st National Vice Chairman of the NRM, a position currently held by the long-serving Hajji Moses Kigongo. While Kigongo’s legacy in building the NRM is undeniable, the time has come for generational renewal—infusing the party with new energy, modern strategies, and a deeper connection to grassroots realities.
Ntwatwa’s platform for the NRM is clear:
- Unity across all party levels
- Grassroots empowerment through local initiatives
- Youth involvement in national decision-making
- Transparency and inclusion in party structures
- Strengthening the NRM legacy through innovation and people-centered leadership
His slogan—“For peace, unity, development, and welfare among all party members”—is more than a phrase. It is a commitment to restoring trust, strengthening party structures, and preparing the NRM for the future.
Policy Priorities For Nakifuma
If elected as Nakifuma’s MP, Ntwatwa John Jackson has laid out a clear and practical development agenda:
- Agricultural Transformation: Subsidies, equipment, and training for farmers to boost productivity and market access.
- Infrastructure Development: Upgrading feeder roads, health centers, and schools to meet modern standards.
- Youth Empowerment: Creation of a Nakifuma Skills Development Hub and access to youth start-up capital.
- Women’s Inclusion: Support for SACCOs and business training for women-led enterprises.
- Community Engagement: Regular town hall meetings to maintain transparency and citizen participation.
Support From The Ground Up
Ntwatwa’s rising popularity stems from his genuine connection with the people. Unlike career politicians, he represents a leadership that is both accessible and accountable. His campaign has gained momentum in every corner of Nakifuma—from Kasawo to Naggalama, from Kyampisi to Seeta Nazigo.
Even within NRM circles, there is growing recognition of his potential to unify the party, especially as the country prepares for a post-Kigongo era in top leadership.
Therefore; Uganda stands at a crossroad, and Nakifuma is no exception. With Ntwatwa John Jackson, both the constituency and the NRM party have a chance to embrace purposeful change led by a visionary with integrity, passion, and a deep sense of service.
