General (Retired) Moses Ali is one of the most powerful and long-serving leaders in Uganda. At 86 years old, he is the oldest minister in the country. He has been part of Uganda’s government since 1971 — over 50 years.
Moses Ali first became a government leader during Idi Amin’s rule. He was appointed Minister of Finance in 1977.
Later, he left the government after falling out with Amin. He went into exile and later returned as the leader of a rebel group called the Uganda National Rescue Front.
In the late 1980s, he made peace with President Yoweri Museveni’s government. His group joined the national army, and he started working with the new government. Since then, he has held many top government jobs.
Today, Moses Ali is the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament.
Many people wonder why he has not retired, but the answer is simple: he is still trusted, experienced, and respected. His long history in politics and military makes him a valuable advisor to the government.
He is known for being calm, loyal, and wise. He has worked with different governments and always found a way to stay important.
Some people say Uganda needs younger leaders, but others believe Moses Ali’s knowledge is still useful.
Even after 50 years, Moses Ali shows no sign of leaving public life. He continues to serve the country and remains one of Uganda’s most powerful and experienced leaders.
His story is a clear example of how long one can serve if they are smart, loyal, and strong.
