In a historic and spiritually charged event, Kagadi District became the epicenter of religious transformation on Thursday, as thousands gathered at the Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka International Stadium in Kyalubayinga, Muhorro Subcounty, for the grand celebration of Owobusobozi Bisaka’s 96th birthday.
The two-day event drew dignitaries and religious leaders from across the world—including South Africa, Ethiopia, Germany, Ghana, and the Democratic Republic of Congo—uniting under the banner of the Faith of Unity, a growing spiritual movement led by Bisaka himself.
The most remarkable moment of the celebration came when over 35 self-proclaimed notorious witch doctors from DR Congo, 15 Muslim sheikhs, 45 senior pastors, and even former cocaine traffickers took to the stage to publicly renounce their former practices and embrace the teachings of Oneness as propagated by Owobusobozi Bisaka.
Speaking on behalf of the pastors, Aduluj Julius, a Congolese cleric who once oversaw more than 70 churches across the globe, admitted to misleading his congregants. “I never performed miracles with divine power. We used dark forces and exploited people for money,” Julius confessed. He said he found the truth he had long sought in the teachings of Faith of Unity and vowed to devote his life to spreading the message of divine unity and harmony.
Another notable convert was Jean Adu, one of Ghana’s most feared and revered witch doctors, who managed the largest shrine in Bole District. Adu stated that abandoning witchcraft had always been his hidden dream, and this celebration finally gave him the opportunity to break free from that life.
In an emotional and symbolic moment, Owobusobozi Bisaka inaugurated 1,100 new followers into the Faith of Unity. He called upon them to be torchbearers of peace, development, and spiritual transformation. “Let us do away with divisions and disunity. We must work hard, build small industries, and embrace agriculture as guided by our Faith of Unity calendar and the Book of Owobusobozi,” he urged.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who was the Chief Guest, praised Bisaka’s contribution to national cohesion and development, applauding his consistent support for the National Resistance Movement (NRM). Bisaka, often regarded as a spiritual mobilizer for the ruling party, continues to be a strong pillar in rallying grassroots support for President Museveni.
Massive Gifts & Recognition
The Kakabara Bukwenda Diocese stole the show during the gift session, presenting an offertory worth UGX 668 million to Owobusobozi Bisaka. In total, millions of shillings were offered by followers and institutions in honor of Bisaka’s 96 years of life and service.
As the Faith of Unity movement expands beyond borders, this year’s celebration will be remembered as a transformative chapter for many who traded superstition, division, and deception for unity, truth, and development.
The Faith of Unity, founded by Owobusobozi Bisaka, is a spiritual movement that emphasizes the oneness of humanity, peaceful coexistence, and socioeconomic empowerment through faith-led development.
