Ibadan, Nigeria – Shock and grief have gripped residents of Ibadan following the tragic death of popular online hair vendor Adeshina Olayinka, widely known as Khadi, who was found dead in a hotel room in the Akobo area of Oyo State.

Khadi’s lifeless body was discovered on Thursday inside a room at Wetland Hotel, sparking widespread sorrow among friends, customers, and followers who knew her through her thriving online business.

According to information gathered, Khadi had informed a close friend on Wednesday night that she was heading out to meet someone at the hotel. She reportedly checked in later that evening in the company of an unidentified man.

On Thursday morning, the man is said to have approached the hotel reception requesting to check out early. As part of standard procedure, hotel staff attempted to contact Khadi to confirm her well-being. She reportedly answered the call and assured the receptionist that everything was fine, explaining that she was resting and would check out later. Based on this confirmation, the man was allowed to leave the premises.

Concern later arose when a hotel receptionist who had previously borrowed a power bank from Khadi went to her room to retrieve it. After repeated knocks went unanswered, the matter was escalated to hotel management.

Using a spare access card, the hotel manager opened the room, where Khadi was found dead. The incident was immediately reported to the relevant security authorities, who began investigations.

As of the time of reporting, the exact cause of death has not been officially established. However, unconfirmed reports circulating locally suggest possible foul play, though authorities have not issued a formal statement on these claims.

Khadi’s sudden death has left many in mourning, with tributes pouring in across social media platforms from friends, clients, and members of the online business community who described her as vibrant, hardworking, and full of promise.

Police investigations are ongoing as family members and the public await official findings into the circumstances surrounding her death.
