“You’re Not Gone, Your Legacy Lives On” — Chairman PAP Irumba Pays Tribute
The Chief Executive Officer of TheSpy Uganda and Chairman of the Pan African Pyramid (PAP) Andrew Irumba Katusabe has announced the passing of his uncle, Former Catholic Priest Father Isdore Kakyomya Araali, in what he described as a deeply heartbreaking moment for the family.
In an emotional tribute shared on Wednesday, the media executive revealed that Father Kakyomya passed on after a long battle with cancer at Kampala Hospital, where he had been receiving specialized treatment.
“Doctors did everything possible within their human capacity, but God had the last take,” Irumba wrote.
A Life Of Service, Sacrifice & Quiet Impact
Father Isdore Kakyomya, a former priest and educationist, is remembered as a man who dedicated his life to service, compassion, and uplifting others especially children from underprivileged backgrounds.
The CEO recalled how his uncle personally picked him up and took him to school, an act he credits as foundational to who he is today.
“I wouldn’t be who I am today,” he said, adding that Father Kakyomya also educated and took care of his mother during their early years at Yerya Primary School in Bunyangabu.
Inspired by this legacy, Irumba noted that he has continued his uncle’s mission by educating and empowering many vulnerable children across the country.
“He Has Transitioned, Not Died”
In a powerful reflection on death and legacy, the bereaved nephew emphasized that Father Kakyomya’s influence lives on through the many lives he touched.
“Uncle, you’re not dead really. You’ve transitioned to another life. Because your legacy lives on through us,” he wrote, mentioning several family members who continue to carry his values forward.
