From Luzira To Masanafu: Workaholic Namyalo Concludes Extensive Ramadan Outreach Programme

The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has concluded her Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Ramadan outreach programme after an extensive drive that reached prisons, police stations, universities, schools, and mosques across the country, in a campaign aimed at promoting compassion, inclusivity, and empowerment during the holy month.

The outreach, which began at the start of Ramadan, officially came to an end today, marking weeks of sustained humanitarian engagement with vulnerable communities. Throughout the period, Hajjat Namyalo extended food support and empowerment initiatives to a wide range of beneficiaries, reinforcing the importance of sharing and solidarity.

On its final day in Kampala, the programme commenced at Luzira Prison, where Hajjat Namyalo delivered food items to inmates as part of efforts to ensure inclusivity during the fasting period. She was received by the Officer in Charge of Security and Safety, Mr. Jackson Kwihangana, who welcomed the initiative and commended her for reaching out to often overlooked communities.

Luzira Prisons currently house a total of 11,331 inmates, underscoring the significance of such humanitarian interventions. Mr. Kwihangana also expressed appreciation for empowerment tools previously extended to the institution, noting their positive impact on rehabilitation and skills development among inmates.

In further support of sustainable livelihood initiatives, Hajjat Namyalo contributed Shs10 million towards the Prisons staff and spouses’ bakery project to facilitate the purchase of machinery. The support is expected to boost production capacity and promote self-reliance among beneficiaries.

While addressing officers and staff, she emphasized the importance of empowerment, dignity, and community support as key pillars in nation-building.

From Luzira, the outreach proceeded to Jinja Road Police Division, where Hajjat Namyalo was received by the District Police Commander, Mr. Opiyo Patrick. He expressed appreciation for her visit and commended her for the continued support extended to the station and its personnel.

During her engagement with officers, she applauded their dedication, discipline, and unwavering commitment to duty, noting their critical role in maintaining law and order, national stability, and public safety. She further emphasized the importance of integrity, teamwork, and professionalism, urging them to remain steadfast in upholding the values of the force, while pledging her continued support to strengthen collaboration between leadership and security institutions.

The Ramadan outreach later concluded at Masanafu Islamic Primary School, where Hajjat Namyalo donated huge quantities of food items to learners. She urged the students to prioritize their education and use the opportunity to empower themselves academically, noting that this aligns with the aspirations of Yoweri Museveni for the country’s youth.

The school’s leader, Sheikh Yusuf Lubega, thanked Hajjat Namyalo for reaching out to vulnerable Ugandans, noting that many of the learners come from humble backgrounds. He said the gesture had brought joy to the school community, especially seeing support extended directly from the President’s office.

As part of the donation, the learners received Eid food supplies, including large quantities of rice and meat, marking a fitting end to the day’s activities.

The successful conclusion of the ONC Ramadan outreach highlights a broad and impactful initiative that has, since the beginning of the holy month, touched lives across multiple sectors prisons, police, educational institutions, and places of worship leaving a lasting impression of care, empowerment, and national unity.
