‘We Won’t Settle For Less, Success Is A Must’ – Namyalo Fires Up ONC Coordinators Ahead Of NRM Village Polls

Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Manager, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, has urged ONC coordinators to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) LC1 elections, assuring them that the office remains committed to delivering on its mandate despite operating under financial constraints.

Speaking during the flag-off of ONC coordinators at Kyambogo on Monday, Namyalo disclosed that although the NRM Secretariat received Shs50 billion to facilitate party activities, the Office of the National Chairman was not included in the allocation despite earlier guidance from President Yoweri Museveni that it should receive funding.

She revealed that she later raised the matter directly with President Museveni, who explained that the allocated funds had already been committed. However, she said the President pledged additional, albeit limited, financial support to enable the ONC to continue executing its responsibilities.

Namyalo expressed gratitude to President Museveni for what she described as his fatherly leadership and unwavering commitment to supporting all organs of the NRM.

“I thank the President for always being a father to all of us. Even in difficult circumstances, he listened and found a way to support our work,” she said.

She emphasised that despite the budget limitations, the ONC would continue fulfilling its core mandate of mobilising Ugandans to support the NRM while monitoring the implementation of government programmes across the country.

Namyalo reminded coordinators that the office’s mission goes beyond election campaigns, saying it is responsible for strengthening the party through ideological orientation, promoting NRM values, and ensuring government programmes effectively reach the grassroots.

She noted that ONC coordinators are also tasked with monitoring party chairperson elections, overseeing the implementation of government initiatives, and submitting reports to the National Chairman to guide decision-making.

Calling for renewed commitment, Namyalo urged coordinators to work tirelessly to secure victory for NRM candidates in the forthcoming LC1 elections, saying strong grassroots leadership remains the foundation of the party’s continued success.

She further stressed the importance of accountability in the implementation of government programmes, arguing that proper monitoring is essential to ensure public resources directly benefit ordinary Ugandans.

Reflecting on her leadership journey, Namyalo said she has faced sabotage and numerous political challenges but remains steadfast in serving President Museveni and advancing the NRM’s mission.

She added that while she aspires to take on greater responsibilities in the future, her immediate priority is to diligently execute her current assignment as ONC Manager.

Namyalo concluded by calling on all ONC coordinators to remain united, disciplined, and focused as they embark on nationwide mobilisation ahead of the village-level elections, urging them to put the interests of the party and the country above personal ambitions.
