Hon. Sarah Kiyimba, the Resident District Commissioner of Rakai District, Mama Masaka City, PO 035 and PLU Women Coordinator for Greater Masaka, has been widely praised by residents and citizens of Rakai District for her strong fight against corruption and her commitment to quality service delivery.
The commendation came during a gathering at Rakai District Headquarters in an engagement meeting with area Members of Parliament, local leaders and the general public. The meeting was convened by the Minister for Local Government, Hon. Balam Barugahara, as part of his ongoing “Expose the Corrupt” field operation.
Appointed Resident District Commissioner of Rakai by President Museveni in 2021, Kiyimba has consistently walked the talk in the fight against corruption. She notably initiated the suspension of the corrupt District Service Commission and the District Engineer over shoddy works and mismanagement of government funds.
Residents further commended her for staying clear of land grabbing and for refusing to collude with land grabbers, actions that have significantly reduced land wrangles and conflicts in the district.
Hon. Balam urged residents to continue supporting President Museveni and anti-corruption champions such as RDC Kiyimba in order to eradicate corruption in Uganda. He reiterated the President’s resolve for this political term under the banner of “Kisanja no more sleep and no more corruption” and expressed his own strong commitment to fighting corruption, which undermines service delivery and slows socio-economic development.
Residents appealed to President Museveni to retain Sarah in the President’s Office in Rakai, praising her for serving them diligently and for promoting pro-people projects.
Hon. Ssegirinya Kadumwa, the Speaker of the Rakai District Council, praised RDC Sarah for standing firm and never shying away from supporting President Museveni, the NRM Government and its supporters.
“She fought hard during my speakership race despite my disability; she made sure I won the race on the NRM flag,” Ssegirinya added.
He further commended the good working relationship between the RDC’s office and the District Council, as well as on an individual basis, which has enabled the work to run smoothly.
Sarah expressed gratitude to the people of Rakai for recognising her service and pledged to serve them even better.
