The mighty “University of You” – Victoria University has announced the dates for its highly anticipated 10th Graduation Ceremony, marking another major milestone in the institution’s journey of producing skilled, innovative and future-ready professionals.

The university has confirmed that the graduation celebrations will take place on October 19 and 20, 2026, at the prestigious Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala, starting at 7:00am on both days.

The ceremony will be held under the inspiring theme, “The Future is Here,” a theme that reflects Victoria University’s growing emphasis on preparing students for a rapidly changing world driven by innovation, technology, entrepreneurship and emerging digital opportunities.

According to the official programme, the first day, Monday, October 19, will be dedicated to graduates from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) and the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS).

The second day, Tuesday, October 20, will bring together graduates from the Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS).

The announcement has already boosted excitement among finalists, their families, friends and the wider Victoria University community as hundreds of students prepare to officially complete their university journey and transition into the next chapter of their professional lives.

Beyond The Traditional Degree

For Victoria University, graduation is not only about awarding academic qualifications. The institution has increasingly placed emphasis on ensuring that its graduates leave university with practical skills and workplace experience.

Upon graduation, students receive not only a traditional academic transcript but also a Work-Integrated Learning Transcript, which certifies practical skills, industry projects, professional competencies and workplace readiness acquired during their studies.

University Vice Chancellor Prof. Lawrence Muganga and the management have positioned the initiative as an important component of the institution’s approach to employability, particularly at a time when employers increasingly value practical experience alongside academic qualifications.

The model reflects Victoria University’s broader emphasis on connecting classroom learning with real-world challenges, professional environments and emerging industry demands.

Victoria University offers a wide range of undergraduate, diploma and postgraduate programmes designed to respond to changing national priorities and international workforce demands.

Among its undergraduate programmes are the Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Nursing Science, Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, Bachelor of Software Engineering, as well as programmes in business, journalism, tourism, agriculture and education.

The university also offers diploma programmes in areas such as Information Technology, Business Administration and Hospitality.

At postgraduate level, its programmes include the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Public Health, Master of Science in Cyber Security, various Master of Laws specialisations and other advanced qualifications.

Through these programmes, the university continues to place emphasis on digital competencies, entrepreneurship, innovation and practical learning as key components of modern higher education.

A Technology-Driven University

Victoria University has increasingly positioned itself as a technology-driven institution committed to innovative, practical and industry-focused education.

The University management argues that traditional academic models can struggle to keep pace with rapidly changing industries, making adaptive and technology-driven education increasingly important for preparing graduates for the modern economy.

Under the leadership of Prof. Lawrence Muganga, an author and prominent advocate for the use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in education, Victoria University has continued to promote technology as a tool for transforming learning and expanding opportunities for young people.

The university’s approach places particular emphasis on equipping students with skills that can remain relevant beyond the classroom, including digital literacy, innovation, entrepreneurship, problem-solving and practical workplace competencies.

The 10th Graduation Ceremony therefore comes at an important moment in Victoria University’s development as the institution continues to strengthen its identity as a centre for practical, innovative and technology-oriented education.

With The Future is Here as its theme, Victoria University’s 10th graduation is set to celebrate not only the achievements of its graduates but also the university’s vision of preparing a new generation to participate confidently in the future of work, technology and Africa’s socio-economic transformation.
