As the National Resistance Movement (NRM) enters a critical phase of internal elections, one voice is emerging with powerful clarity and purpose, Kyanika Rehema. A respected lifelong mobiliser, and trusted grassroots leader, Rehema is making a bold case for her candidacy to the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) under the National Women’s League banner.
A Trusted Ally Of The NRM Chairman
Kyanika’s long-standing relationship with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is no secret. As one of the Movement’s most reliable female mobilisers, she has consistently delivered results where it matters most: among the people. Her unwavering loyalty, clear grasp of party ideology, and consistent on-ground impact have earned her recognition and trust at the highest levels of the NRM.
Her close working relationship with the President, combined with her strategic insights into women’s empowerment, now positions her as a leading contender to reshape the future of the Women’s League—and, by extension, the fortunes of Ugandan women across the country.
From the streets of Iganga to the hills of Busoga, Kyanika has spent years shoulder to shoulder with women—organizing SACCOs, building local development networks, and mentoring girls and young mothers. Her approach is direct, transparent, and grounded in lived realities.
“She doesn’t campaign with promises. She campaigns with proof,” says Namutebi Grace, a community leader in Luuka district. “We’ve seen her work. We’ve felt her impact.”
Kyanika’s campaign is powered not by elite endorsements, but by thousands of women who see in her a reflection of their struggles, aspirations, and dreams.
“She leads with humility, listens with heart, and acts with urgency,” says one campaign mobiliser in Fort Portal. “We need a leader who understands that real change starts at the grassroots.”
Therefore, as the NRM gears up for its next term of leadership, many believe the Women’s League is due for a reset—one that reflects the realities of today’s Ugandan woman. Kyanika Rehema represents that renewal. With experience, loyalty, and a record of delivery, she stands ready to elevate women’s voices within the party and across the nation.
Her campaign mantra echoes her leadership style: “I am, because you are. Together, we rise.”
