Wakiso, Uganda-The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), led by Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, has officially launched a nationwide Ramadan food distribution to support Muslims during the holy month of fasting. The initiative aims to alleviate hardships and ensure that Muslim communities across Uganda can observe Ramadan with dignity.
On the first day of distribution, three major mosques in Wakiso District—Nansana Main Mosque, Kakiri Mosque, and Kasangati Mosque—received food packages, an effort that was met with overwhelming gratitude from the local Muslim community.
Namyalo Urges Muslims To Maintain Good Deeds
While addressing the congregation, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo encouraged Muslims to continue practicing good deeds beyond Ramadan, emphasizing that true repentance and spiritual growth extend beyond the fasting period. She also praised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his unwavering support for the Muslim community, calling him a “father of the nation” dedicated to their well-being.
Namyalo further revealed that President Museveni plans to visit the community soon to promote the gospel of wealth creation, urging Muslims to actively participate in government programs aimed at improving their livelihoods.
Essential Food Items Distributed
The Ramadan food packages distributed included posho (maize flour), rice, cooking oil, spaghetti, and salt, among other essential items. Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to President Museveni and the ONC for their continuous support and generosity, particularly through initiatives championed by Hajjat Namyalo.
The food distribution continues tomorrow in other regions, with further updates to be communicated. The ONC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting all Ugandans, regardless of faith, during this sacred period of fasting and reflection.
