I greet you, fellow citizens and comrades in nation building.
In the spirit of democratic participation and in response to the call of our National Resistance Movement (NRM) principles, a total of 76,408 registered NRM members turned up to vote for the LC5 party flag bearer of their choice in Alebtong district. This turnout, grounded in patriotism and ideological clarity, reflects the continued trust in the party and its grassroots structures.
This decisive voter participation was driven by three core considerations:
- Competence in District Administration:
Voters demanded leadership that can skillfully steer district officials along the NRM manifesto line—prioritizing delivery, discipline, and development. - Constitutional Adherence:
Electorate confidence rested on candidates who embody Article 183 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, ensuring transparency, accountability, and lawful execution of district responsibilities. - Welfare through Infrastructure:
As emphasized in Point 5 of the NRA Ten-Point Programme—now integrated into National Development Plan IV—voters evaluated candidates based on their commitment to improving infrastructure, particularly in roads, health centers, and schools, which are essential for uplifting livelihoods.
Throughout the campaign trail, I was pleased to observe that all three contenders echoed the national ethos as articulated by His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni—highlighting socio-economic transformation as the key to sustainable progress.
Democracy, being the expression of popular sovereignty, has spoken clearly in Alebtong. The NRM voters have confidently chosen Mr. Ongom Ongom Ambrose as the party’s LC5 flag bearer for the 2026–2031 term.
In the footsteps of our Movement’s founding fathers, I take this moment to warmly congratulate Mr. Ongom Ongom Ambrose on this milestone. May his leadership embody the aspirations of our people and the tenets of the NRM revolution.
For God and My Country.
