The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has issued a firm warning to the public over a wave of fraudulent TikTok accounts impersonating her to scam unsuspecting Ugandans.

In an official statement released through the Office of the National Chairman, authorities revealed that multiple fake profiles have been created in her name, with imposters promising financial assistance, scholarships and other forms of support in order to lure victims.

The statement made it clear that Namyalo does not operate any TikTok account and has no immediate plans to join the platform.

“Members of the public are strongly advised to disregard any content or solicitations coming from such accounts. Do not engage with or send money to anyone claiming to represent SPA Hadijah Namyalo on these platforms,” the statement emphasized.

According to officials, the scammers are targeting vulnerable individuals by falsely claiming to offer government-linked assistance, often asking victims to send “facilitation fees” or personal details under false pretences.

Namyalo condemned the scheme, describing it as a deliberate exploitation of public trust.

“These are criminals exploiting people’s trust and desperation. I am not on TikTok, and I do not authorize anyone to collect money on my behalf,” she said.

She urged Ugandans to verify information through official government communication channels and stressed that legitimate government programs do not require individuals to pay money in order to access support.

The Office of the National Chairman has called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious accounts to relevant authorities, warning that cybercriminals are increasingly using social media platforms to impersonate public figures and defraud citizens.

The incident adds to growing concerns over online fraud and identity theft in Uganda, with calls for stronger enforcement and public awareness to combat digital scams.
