The Ruparelia Foundation has announced a three-day Free Eye Health Camp scheduled to take place at Bukedea Teaching Hospital from March 27 to March 29, 2026, in partnership with Mulago National Referral Hospital and C-Care.
The medical outreach initiative is being organized in honour of Rajiv Ruparelia, celebrating what organizers describe as “a vision of service and a legacy of compassion.” The camp aims to improve access to quality eye care services for communities across Eastern and Northern Uganda.

According to organizers, the camp will provide free eye check-ups, cataract screenings, reading glasses, and children’s glasses, as well as cataract surgeries for selected patients. The services will be offered by qualified medical teams to help detect and treat preventable eye conditions that continue to affect many Ugandans.
The outreach is open to both adults and children, with residents from Bukedea, Soroti, Mbale, Gulu, Lira, Tororo, and Kapchorwa especially encouraged to attend. Health experts say such initiatives play a critical role in addressing avoidable blindness and improving the quality of life for people in underserved communities.
Through this program, the Ruparelia Foundation continues its long-standing commitment to community development and accessible healthcare, partnering with leading medical institutions and private sector players to extend essential services closer to the people.
Organizers have called upon community members and local leaders to mobilize residents who may be experiencing eye problems to take advantage of the free services during the three-day camp.
The initiative is supported by several corporate partners and organizations working together to ensure the success of the medical outreach program.
