In a decisive and impassioned call to action, Hakim Kyeswa, aspiring National Vice Chairman for the Central Region, has urged National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders across Uganda to spearhead a vigorous grassroots mobilization effort ahead of the upcoming Special Interest Group (SIG) elections—with a strategic focus on youth engagement.
Addressing party leaders, Kyeswa emphasized the urgency of activating village-level structures to consolidate support for NRM candidates and strengthen the party’s nationwide presence.
“Your active leadership is crucial in mobilizing our grassroots networks—particularly among youth supporters—to organize effectively at the village level,” Kyeswa stated.
Youth Councils: The Strategic Battleground
Central to Kyeswa’s message is the prioritization of Youth Council elections. He described these positions as critical platforms for energizing the NRM’s support base and grooming future leadership.
“Securing victories in Youth Council positions will energize our base and build critical momentum as we prepare for the General Elections,” he asserted.
Kyeswa’s call reflects a strategic recalibration within the NRM, recognizing the transformative power of youth in shaping electoral outcomes and long-term party vitality.
Grassroots First: Strength Through Unity
Kyeswa urged party leaders to ensure every village visibly rallies behind NRM candidates, highlighting the importance of unity and visibility in demonstrating the party’s strength.
“Visible support, such as youth engagements at the community level, demonstrates our collective strength,” he noted.
He stressed that the SIG elections represent not just a political contest, but a litmus test of the NRM’s organizational cohesion and readiness for the road to 2026.
Momentum For The General Elections
Kyeswa painted a compelling picture of how victories in the SIG elections could serve as a springboard for broader campaign success. He emphasized that a strong showing would reinforce the party’s presence at the grassroots, empower emerging leaders, and inject fresh energy into national mobilization.
“A strong showing in these elections will reinforce our presence in every community, empower a new generation of NRM leaders, and generate unstoppable energy for our broader campaign efforts,” he explained.
As political gears begin to shift toward the 2026 General Elections, Kyeswa’s rallying cry underscores a broader strategic vision—one that starts with local action and builds toward national triumph.
“Together, let’s ensure the NRM flag flies high across all villages, signaling our unity and readiness for the challenges ahead,” he concluded.
Kyeswa’s message stands as both a directive and an inspiration: a reminder that the path to national victory is paved through committed, grassroots leadership and the mobilization of Uganda’s vibrant youth.
