Day 1: Hundreds Turn Up For 29th International Trade Fair At UMA Show Grounds-Lugogo

The 29th Uganda International Trade Fair has on its first day been graced by hundreds of business experts and big dreamers from across 30 countries in Africa and beyond.

The seven-day event that will close on 10th October 2023 is organized by the Uganda Manufacturers Association, an umbrella body for manufacturers that protects & promotes their interests and advises the Government on key policies.

Before officially kicking off the exhibitions, officials from UMA led by the Executive Director, Mr.Ezra Muhumuza Rubanda and stakeholders addressed the press on this annual event and called up Ugandans to come in large numbers and exchange ideas with international business experts.

Among the exhibitors spotted on the opening day included private companies, organizations and government agencies including, the National Identification Registration Authority, Uganda Insurers Association, Hisense Uganda, Uganda Revenue Authority, Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation, Uganda Breweries, Uganda Breweries, Tembo Steels, Stanbic Bank, Lato Milk, Simba Automotives, Uganda Baati, Total Energies and many others.

This year’s exhibition has attracted various sectors including; ICT, construction, chemical & paints, foods & beverages, packaging materials, health, logistics & transportation to mention but a few.

Addressing the press last week, Mr Muhumuza said that this year they have introduced the Black Friday concept, whereby several manufacturers and traders that have products in abundance will be selling them at a discount of 60% from 6th to 10th October.
