In a sweeping show of generosity and solidarity, the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) on Monday launched Day 2 of its nationwide Eid Al-Adha donation drive, spearheaded by ONC Manager and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye. Acting on behalf of H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the initiative delivered much-needed food items and livestock to Muslim communities in Banda, Mukono, Luwero, and Kasangati.
The outreach, a beacon of the President’s enduring message of unity and wealth creation, is aimed at empowering Muslims during one of Islam’s holiest festivals—Eid Al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice.
The day’s journey began at Masjid Al-Hidaaya in Banda, Nakawa Division, where Hajjat Namyalo handed over a cow and essential foodstuffs including rice, posho, and sugar. She was warmly welcomed by Mosque Chairman Muhamood Bukenya, who hailed ONC’s continued support.
“We are truly grateful for this timely support as we prepare for Eid,” Bukenya said. “These donations will ensure that our community celebrates with joy and dignity.”
From Banda, the ONC team proceeded to Masjid Noor Seeta UMEA in Mukono District, where Hajjat Namyalo not only donated another cow and food packages, but also personally pledged to contribute toward the completion of the mosque, which is still under construction—an announcement that drew thunderous applause from congregants.
The momentum carried into Masjid Taqwa in Zirobwe, Luwero District, where she was received by Sheikh Zaidi Nyanzi, Head of Sheikhs in the district, alongside Sheikh Swalahudin Nurudin Ssendagire. Once again, a cow and food items were handed over to support Eid celebrations.
The final stop of the day was Masjid Saeed Al Majdour in Kasangati, where yet another donation package was delivered to an enthusiastic reception. In all locations, the spirit of gratitude and celebration was palpable.
This follows a highly successful Day 1 of the campaign, which saw ONC visit communities in Kisenyi, Kibuli, Kawempe, Nansana, and Masajja, spreading cheer through similar donations.
Eid Al-Adha, celebrated by Muslims worldwide, honors Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and willingness to sacrifice. It is marked by the slaughtering of animals and the distribution of meat to family, neighbors, and the needy—reflecting values of faith, charity, and unity.
Speaking during the visits, Hajjat Namyalo stressed that the donations were a gesture of love and solidarity from President Museveni, whom she affectionately referred to as “Jajja to the Bazzukulu.”
“His Excellency sends his warmest Eid greetings and blessings to all Muslims,” Namyalo said. “Through ONC, we are ensuring that every Ugandan Muslim can celebrate with pride and joy.”
She encouraged all citizens to embrace the President’s message of wealth creation, self-reliance, and community empowerment, calling Eid a moment to reflect on obedience, unity, and compassion.
“This is more than just a seasonal gesture,” she added. “Supporting our communities during Eid is now a tradition within ONC. We are committed to spreading these blessings to even more areas in the coming days.”
As the campaign forges ahead, ONC’s efforts stand as a testament to the government’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity, interfaith respect, and grassroots support, lighting up the Eid celebrations for thousands across Uganda.
