Joy and jubilation filled the Busoga Kingdom as His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, graduated with a Master of Advanced Studies in Global Affairs from the Jackson School of Global Affairs, Yale University. This marked his second Master’s degree, adding to his impressive academic profile. The historic achievement has not only thrilled the royal family but has also sparked excitement across Uganda, with social media platforms buzzing with congratulatory messages from his subjects and well-wishers.
The Kyabazinga, known for his deep commitment to education, has long inspired Ugandan youth by embodying the value of lifelong learning. With degrees from Kyambogo University (Bachelor of Arts in Economics) and Coventry University (MBA in Management), the monarch is also in his third year of a Doctorate in Business Administration (Strategic Management) at the University of Portsmouth in the UK. His Yale degree, obtained on a merit-based full board scholarship, places him among elite global leaders who have walked the same halls — including Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, and current U.S. Vice President JD Vance.
Palace sources confirmed that His Majesty was applauded by faculty at Yale for his dedication and exceptional performance, completing the program with distinction despite his busy royal duties. The presence of the radiant Queen, Her Royal Highness Inhebantu Jovia Mutesi Nadiope, at his side added warmth and elegance to the milestone event. Also present were key members of the Busoga Royal family, the Kingdom’s Prime Minister Owek Dr. Joseph Muvawala, Prince Walugembe Frederick of Butembe, and Kingdom officials including State Minister Ivan Kiirya.
According to Owek Babirye Yudaya and Prince Wanume Paul, this achievement is not just ceremonial—it strategically positions the Kyabazinga to lead in global discourse on pressing issues like health, youth empowerment, and cultural diplomacy. As the national champion against malaria and a UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador, the King’s academic journey strongly aligns with his mission to drive socio-economic transformation in Busoga and beyond. His leadership continues to blend tradition and modernity, inspiring a new generation to pursue excellence on a global stage.
