Mugisha Geofrey Launches 7:7 Youth Revolution, Declares Bid For NRM Youth League Chairmanship

By Frank Kamuntu

With a bold declaration echoing across Uganda on the 7th day of the 7th month, Mugisha Geofrey has officially launched the 7:7 Youth Revolution, a nationwide mobilization effort aimed at redefining youth leadership within the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

The movement, unveiled during a press briefing and supported by high-energy digital posters, marks the beginning of Mugisha’s campaign to become the next National Chairperson of the NRM Youth League. Declaring that “the youth will no longer beg for seats at the table,” Mugisha promised to build a new political culture where young people are central players in national decision-making.

“We stand not as spectators of history but as its architects,” Mugisha proclaimed. “The fire lit by young liberators in 1981 will not fade. We will carry it forward for the 38 million Ugandans born after the Luwero Bush War.”

Strategic Grassroots Mobilization: A New Youth Command Network

At the heart of the 7:7 Revolution is an ambitious nationwide structure being deployed under Mugisha’s leadership to mobilize youth at every level. These include:

  • RFA – Revolutionary Field Ambassadors: Each region will be coordinated by an RFA, such as the RFA to Northern Uganda, responsible for guiding all sub-regional activities.
  • FCU – Field Command Units: These will be deployed in districts to scout for ground support and convert political rhetoric into tangible grassroots action.
  • DOU – Digital Operations Unit: A specialized digital team tasked with mass online mobilization, networking, and countering misinformation campaigns.
  • MCU – Media & Communications Unit: This unit will oversee bulk messaging, mobile call centers, campaign communications, and digital storytelling.

“We’re not just talking. We’re organizing—from Kayunga to Karamoja, Gulu to Mityana. Our RFAs and FCUs are already mapping and mobilizing. This is a disciplined, coordinated, youth-led transformation,” Mugisha said.

A Youth Mandate Reclaimed

Mugisha’s message was clear: young Ugandans are tired of being used as political pawns or cheerleaders. The 7:7 Revolution aims to empower them as key stakeholders in the political, social, and economic future of Uganda.

“We refuse to beg for relevance. We are building new power structures rooted in the needs and aspirations of the youth. Our generation demands results—not empty slogans.”

His declaration comes at a time when calls for generational leadership change within the NRM are growing louder. Mugisha, already known for his strong grassroots connections and reformist tone, is positioning himself as the face of a youth uprising from within the system—driven by action, not anger.

Nationwide Appeal

With his structured campaign and call for unity among young leaders across the country, Mugisha appealed to all youth in the NRM:

“To fellow young leaders across the Nation—Ladies and Gentlemen—JOIN me, Mugisha Geofrey, on the journey to becoming your next National Chairperson, NRM Youth League. Let us reclaim our rightful mandate and make history together.”

As the 7:7 Youth Revolution kicks into gear, all eyes are now on Mugisha’s next moves and the unfolding impact of his bold organizational approach on Uganda’s political landscape.
