No Time For Fuckicious Talks: Namyalo Backs Muhoozi Birthday Run With UGX 10M, Affirms ONC-PLU Ties!

The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman and Senior Presidential Adviser, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has thrown her weight behind the upcoming birthday charity run in honour of Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, contributing UGX 10 million and receiving official kits on behalf of her office. The gesture underscores strong institutional support for the initiative and sends a clear signal of strong ties between two key mobilisation structures within the ruling establishment.

Namyalo was received by a delegation from the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) led by Secretary General Hon. David Kabanda, in an engagement that also served to dispel speculation about strained relations between the Office of the National Chairman and PLU. Both sides used the occasion to reaffirm their shared commitment to national mobilisation and community-focused programmes.

Speaking to the press, Kabanda said the run, held under the theme “Run for Charity, Run for Hope,” is aimed at raising funds to support vulnerable children in ghettos, baby homes and organisations caring for disadvantaged youth. He described the initiative as one that goes beyond celebration, reflecting a deeper responsibility to uplift communities in need.

Kabanda thanked Namyalo for her support, noting that collaboration between the two offices has always existed despite public misconceptions. He dismissed claims of rivalry, stressing that both entities serve a common purpose of mobilising citizens in line with the President’s vision. Drawing on a football analogy often used by President Yoweri Museveni, Kabanda explained that differing approaches within the same team do not amount to conflict but rather reflect efforts to achieve a shared goal.

In her remarks, Namyalo said her involvement in the run is driven by a personal passion for charity and community empowerment. She expressed honour in joining what she described as a dynamic team committed to improving the lives of the underprivileged, adding that such initiatives reflect values she has consistently championed.

She commended Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for his role in safeguarding the country’s peace and stability, noting that celebrating him through a charitable cause is both appropriate and meaningful. Namyalo also highlighted her continued participation in humanitarian activities, including recent involvement in the Kabaka Birthday Run and personal charity efforts supporting vulnerable groups.

Addressing perceptions of division, she emphasised that her working relationship with Kabanda dates back many years, rooted in shared political ideals and long-standing personal ties. She noted that having different viewpoints does not imply disunity, maintaining that both offices remain aligned in purpose and committed to serving Ugandans.

Her UGX 10 million contribution towards the purchase of kits was widely seen as a significant boost to the charity run, which is expected to draw participation from government officials, civil society and the private sector. The initiative continues to gather momentum as stakeholders rally around a common cause of extending hope and support to Uganda’s most vulnerable children.
