Talent Beyond Books! Chief Muzzukulu Namyalo Calls On Parents To Nurture Children’s Hidden Potential

The Head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has urged parents to take a more active role in nurturing their children’s talents and supporting their overall development beyond the classroom.

Namyalo made the call while officiating at the 2026 Talent Show at Kyanja Junior School, where pupils showcased their abilities in music, dance and drama.

Held under the theme, “Promoting Morals and Social Values through Music, Dance and Drama,” the event brought together pupils, parents and teachers to celebrate creativity and the role of co-curricular activities in shaping children.

Namyalo commended the school for giving pupils an opportunity to discover and develop their talents, saying activities such as music, dance, drama and sports help children build confidence, discipline, teamwork and other important social values.

She said she was particularly impressed by the performances, noting that her personal passion for music, dance, drama and sports made the event especially meaningful.

However, Namyalo challenged parents to go beyond paying school fees and providing basic educational needs by being present and actively involved in their children’s lives.

She applauded parents who attended the talent show to support their children and encouraged others to provide both academic and emotional support as their children grow.

Namyalo also commended fathers who are actively fulfilling their responsibilities towards their children while recognising the sacrifices made by single mothers in raising and supporting their families.

She urged parents to take advantage of Government programmes designed to improve household incomes, regardless of their political affiliations, arguing that economically empowered families are better placed to support their children’s education and wellbeing.

Namyalo further praised Kyanja Junior School for embracing the new curriculum, which promotes a more holistic approach to education by combining academic learning with practical skills and co-curricular activities.

She also commended teachers for their dedication to educating and mentoring pupils, stressing that educators need economic support to enable them to continue delivering quality services.

The ONC Head said her office had been supporting community empowerment initiatives and expressed interest in exploring opportunities through which teachers at Kyanja Junior School could benefit.

On infrastructure, Namyalo acknowledged the school’s pending classroom hall project and pledged to engage the school administration to identify areas where the ONC could offer assistance.

She also promised to reach out to the Ministry of Education and Sports to explore possible support for the school’s infrastructure needs.

Namyalo said the ONC would continue supporting initiatives aimed at developing young people, noting that investment in education, discipline and talent is essential to producing a skilled, responsible and productive generation.

Kyanja Junior School Head Teacher, Ssenyimba Henry, thanked Namyalo for honouring the school’s invitation and praised her humility and commitment to serving the country.

He said her interaction with the pupils, parents and teachers was highly appreciated by the school community.

Namyalo, who noted that she is a neighbour to the school, congratulated the learners, teachers and parents for making the talent show a success.

The event highlighted the growing importance of combining academic education with talent development and character formation in preparing children for their future roles in society.
