Ibanda Set For Big Day As Hajjat Namyalo Backs Rwenzori FM’s Community Give-Back Event

Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Manager and Senior Presidential Advisor/Presidential Assistant (SPA/PA) Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo has called on residents of Ibanda District to turn up in large numbers for Rwenzori FM’s annual Eiraka Radio Ekitaguriro 2026, an event aimed at giving back to the community through entertainment, prizes and community engagement.

The event is scheduled for September 5, 2026, at Saaza Playground in Ibanda, under the theme “Giving Back to the Community.”

Hajjat Namyalo, who will serve as the chief guest, urged residents of Ibanda and surrounding areas to embrace the annual gathering and actively participate in the activities organised by the radio station.

“I thank Rwenzori FM for the initiative to give back to the community. We should emulate it,” Hajjat Namyalo said while speaking to the media.

The event will feature a raffle draw with a number of prizes up for grabs, including a car, television sets, smartphones, a plot of land in Ibanda Municipality and a motorcycle.

Speaking about the event, Rwenzori FM Executive Director Patrick Payi Turyamureba said the gathering is an opportunity for the radio station to celebrate its relationship with its listeners and give back to the community it serves.

“The event is about sharing our journey with the community. We shall give these prizes, including seedlings to farmers. This event is made possible with our partners like ONC,” Turyamureba said.

Beyond the prizes, the event is expected to feature performances from some of Uganda’s leading musicians, with celebrated singer Jose Chameleone among the top artistes lined up to entertain revelers.

The annual Eiraka Radio Ekitaguriro brings together Rwenzori FM listeners, community members, artistes, local leaders and other stakeholders for a day of entertainment, interaction and community celebration.

Organisers have urged residents of Ibanda and neighbouring areas to attend the event in large numbers and participate in the raffle draw for a chance to win the various prizes.

The event is expected to provide an opportunity for Rwenzori FM to strengthen its connection with its audience while promoting community participation and initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of local residents.
