The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has this evening flagged off more than 1,000 boda boda riders from across the Kampala Metropolitan area to mobilise residents and rally support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony scheduled for tomorrow at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
The development comes as momentum continues to build ahead of the highly anticipated national event, expected to attract thousands of Ugandans from different parts of the country.
The colourful flag-off event drew hundreds of NRM supporters, youth mobilisers, and boda boda leaders, who pledged to intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the ceremony.
The riders, who will operate across different divisions of Kampala and its surrounding areas, are expected to play a key role in rallying public participation and spreading information about the national function.
Speaking during the flag-off, Hajjat Namyalo described the swearing-in ceremony as a national occasion for all Ugandans, regardless of political affiliation, religion, tribe, or social status, noting that President Museveni remains a leader for the entire country.
She called upon Ugandans to turn up in large numbers and peacefully take part in the historic event at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
“This event is for every Ugandan. We invite all citizens to come and witness this important national function as President Museveni begins another term of leadership,” Namyalo said.
She further commended the boda boda fraternity for their continued support towards government programmes and mobilisation initiatives, describing them as a key pillar in community engagement and socio-economic transformation.
The boda boda riders, carrying NRM flags and posters bearing President Museveni’s image, later staged a procession through different parts of Kampala as they mobilised residents ahead of tomorrow’s ceremony.
Meanwhile, preparations at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds are in their final stages, with several dignitaries, government officials, diplomats, and regional representatives already arriving in the country for the swearing-in ceremony.
Security has also been heightened around Kololo and major routes leading to the venue as authorities finalize arrangements for the national function.
